Daniel was a Level 2 official who lost his life after an automobile accident on June 15, 2016. He was 17 years old.
Daniel was born and raised in Kenilworth, NJ. In addition to his being a referee, he also played for the New Jersey Devils Youth Club for 12 years and was a 3-year varsity player for Jonathan Dayton High School ice hockey team. Daniel volunteered as a junior coach with the New Jersey Dare Devils, a team made up of special needs players.
Daniel was a loving son and brother, a wonderful teammate and a friend to all who knew him. He was a compassionate soul. From the way he lived his life, we are sure he would want everyone to remember to respect and be kind to one another.
The Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association, known as AAHA and the Atlantic District Officiating Program of USA Hockey, is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship in Daniel’s name to students who plan to continue their education beyond the 12th grade.
